In the context of AAC, "mobile" should be read as "moveable" (see also : SPAAG).  The larger items will be mainly, but not exclusively, encountered in key target areas or organized in AA Artillery Bases.

LAA Summary

Some of the AA gun systems involved in the game do not belong to the 1963-1967 time frame chosen for Atlantic Air Combat.   But besides the fun to have them the aim is to offer the gamer some land-based opposition and to create a "balance" between the three main groups of operators within the game (ie: Warsaw Pact, Neutral Coalition and NATO).  Whether finally retained in the game or not, both real life "in service" and "phased out" dates are mentioned in individual "Notes" (yet to be published) order to clearly identify the time cheats.  So a couple of item have thus been carried "up" from the past, a cheat considered preferable than carrying items "down" from the future.  Either fixed or mobile, the various AA guns below fall into the following categories :

Heavy machine guns

.50 cal
14.5 mm

standard western heavy machine gun
standard eastern  heavy machine gun
The .50cal Maxon Quads were used after WWII til the early 1950s (Korean War).  In AAC it provides a "light" opposition and balances the Soviet ZPU-4 counterpart.

Light autocannons

20 mm
23 mm

standard western light autocannon
standard eastern  light autocannon
The German AA 20mm gun was used by Finland up to the early 1960s (then placed in storage).   With about 40,000 copies of this famous quad guns produced during the war, one can imagine a few hundreds could be lef over for these operators

Medium autocannons

30-40 mm
57 mm

Western 35mm and 40mm guns; Soviet 37mm equivalent
the Soviet 57mm guns don't really have an equivalent in the West - also used in one of their SPAAGs

Heavy cannons

75-90 mm

Even with proximity fuses (introduced in the late 40s) this is definitely introducing obsolete equipment with the purpose of adding ... black puffing clouds in the sky !   Mind you, these could nevertheless be deadly...  A single heavy AA gun data set shall be adopted.  Regarding the German 88mm Flak38, 90 were used by Finland till 1977, and 288 by Spain till an undetermined date, 200 of which being produced under licence after the war.

-
AA Artillery in Atlantic Air Combat
Muzzle speed

if used, a constant till "self-destruction" of the AA shell

Rate of fire (RoF)

basic rate mutiplied by the number of barrels of the gun system - historic data in black - modified data in red

Radar range

maximum horizontal and vertical ranges of the radar

Gun range

minimum and maximum horizontal and vertical ranges of the gun

Firing sequence

AA guns are firing bursts of so many seconds rounds, interrupted by the same "silent" period till ammunitions are exhausted

Ammunition clips

The notion is not applied in AAC

Ammunition total

Ammunition supplies is definite or infinite (~) - expressed in a number of clips or rounds available

Shell weight

if used, will determine a certain level of damage sustained - the heavier the shell, the more the damage

Shell/Warhead

amount of explosive material exclusively - will be used to determine visual effects and the amount of damage sustained
