NOTES

Contrary to the ATC, AEW and WINGMAN functions where YOU were initiating call them, here these (and others) elements of the game will be calling you.

While limited, the gamer will have the following answering options available

REPEAT
NO YES
RECEIVED

Detailed Explanation

In the course of the game, you may be called on the radio, either using your call sign or identifying you by other means (eg:...aircraft flying at altitude xxx, headings xxx approaching xxx by the North...)   These call may come from :

Your Wingmen
Asking for instructions or any question

May require the use of Wingman controls to issue more precise orders

Friendly aircrafts
(combat aircraft on the same "side" as you, thus either Wapa, Neco or Nato)
Asking for instructions or any question

May require the use of Wingman Controls to issue more precise orders

Civilian or  +  aircraft
Entering your airspace and controlled by you

ATC or AEW
Issuing instructions, checking your situation or asking you to report in any manner

May require the use of ATC  or AEW controls to respond more accurately

Ennemy aircraft or ATC
Trying to identify you
(as you enter their airspace) or issuing instructions (eg: to surrender)

May require the use of ATC   controls to respond more accurately - reporting "flaps down / gear dow" when ordered to surrender and land at a designated location

Your aircraft may suffer from battle damage or breakdowns and your radio (ie: alltogether the ATC, AEW and RC tools in the game) is one among several devices which may end up being out of use - while you might not be in a position to answer, these calls are still vital for you to listen.  That is unless you want to be shot down by your own side...

RC Controls

When called upon on the radio, a specific window will appear on the screed allowing to respond as you deem appropriate

While the "Radio Window" is on the screen switch into Menu Mode

By default, the cursor is centered :

REPEAT

NO

   YES

RECEIVED

Using the arrow keys, place the cursor on the appropriate answer

REPEAT

NO

YES

RECEIVED

Your answer will be acknowledged (unless you radio is out, which you are able to check using your Damage/Breakdown controls).

The Radio Window will disappear from the screen and the arrow buttons will switch back in their previous mode (eg: if your ATC or AEW radio was "on").
