INTRODUCTION

The Boeing 727, was a tri-engined medium range airliner and cargo aircraft of the mid sixties.  Built between 1963 and 1984 it was developped from the 707 model with which it shared the same uppper fuselage cross section.  It saw limited use by the military in its homeland as the C-22, and like several Air Forces world wide (eg : Belgian Air Force aquiring ex-SABENA 727-029QC) it was based on the acquisiiton of second hand airframes.

Boeing 727 Cargo Capacity

To keep things simple, the cargo version of the 727-100 had a maximum payload of 45,000 lbs spread over nine 88"x125" pallets.  Each pallet position had a weight limit of its own, and the value of each position could vary according to the series of modifications applied to the aircraft.  The "cargo map" illustration is thus ... illustrative only, with only one source found for the 727-200F and none for the 727-100C.
