Subject: Website crash (Frontpage on HD) - how to resolve the issue

Hi,

While my intention was to be away from keyboard/pixels for another day I nevertheless wanted to bring an update on page, only to discover that, once more, the website had "crashed" on my PC.   I mean, couldn't open any page in Frontpage.   I tried to download specific files and directories (eg: _vti_pvt) from the published website but to no avail.  I then downloaded the whole website with the same vain result.  Now, having learned from the past, I obtained a positive result acting as described below and these are as much a share of information than an aide-memoire for future crashed - this email to be stored in the email AAC directory AND as a "junk" page on the website itself
Et voilą !   A the moment of writing this last step hasn't been done yet as I would wait for your input before doing so

CU

Secondary remark :

Several file names have also changed.  Example in the "Flags" directory : several country names now read with a low case first letter (belgium instead of Belgium)  It seems to have no effect on reading the website, at least on my PC

I have tested :

1st cup of tea for the day....   still not fit & well, but  " ...that's the way the cookie crumbles... "

As you may see in the appended screenshot (Sprite6), instead of erasing it or most of its content I may easily change AAC3 into whatever else and use the MkDir button to re-create an AAC3 directory.   Piece of cake    Suggest:  AAC3-OLD1 or AAC3-2016 or AAC3A  (should we need to have further numbering....).

Now, regarding "other" directories :
  • 3rd party
  • 3rdParty
  • 60
  • ACCESS
  • data
  • dir_testing
  • GameStudio
I would necessarily have to download them on my PC before reloading them.  But why would be do that ?  If they are in AAC3A they would remain as easily accessible as are the directories & files contained in AAC2.   I mean, I didn't erase AAC2 nor AAC from my PC as I still need their content (I erase their content files by files when these are recovered and updated).

But if you prefer these in the "new" AAC3, I can :
  1. download their content
  2. "import" them into this new AAC3 of mine (so the secondary FrontPage files are created to make these belong to the webiste.   The "data" one seems to have quite a content, but what needs to be done needs to be done - no real trouble
  3. and if I don't work well, they would still exist in (say) AAC3A - no harm done
Your opinion Doctor ?...
