NOTES

The "AEW" function is a radio tool similar to "ATC"  but is essentially intented as a navigation aid and to request and receive information 

about compass headings to given points of interest

about the tactical situation

about the ongoing Mission or Flight
 

The device is complex with the function button leading to a first Menu offering 4 main options, themselves leading to as many Sub-Menus  click on the boxes below to see a graphical representations of these menus

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 













Basic Flight Controls    






Joystick: Roll left/right or pitch up/down

Right joystick






Yaw left (L2) or right (R2)

   

Button release = control surface back to neutral

   













Autopilot    





When depressing these buttons simultaneously, the aircraft automatically recovers a "standard" flying attitude :
 wings are level
 rudder is set to neutral
pitch attitude stabilized with a 5 nose up
air brakes are folded back
 flaps are downed to FL1 under 125% of 
  stall speed
 afterburner (if any and lit) is shut off and
   power reduced/increased to 85%

   













Flaps (trailing edge)
Start position is retracted = FL0

   

 

   






Extension  from FL0 to FL1 : +15% lift

   

 

   






Extension  from FL1 to FL2 : +15% lift

   

 

   






Extension  from FL0 to FL2 : +35% lift

Slats (leading edge)
